City: Photography inspiration – Sandy Kim

The next step in the way I tend to research, is looking into artists that use the city as a focal point in their work. Sandy Kim is a photographer whose work I fell in love with a few years ago after being featured as the photographer for the images Girls used in their first record ‘Album’. Kim has created photojournalistic style pictures showing her life within various cities. I love the use of colours and the idea of spontenuity. Her photographs do not seem posed and show a side of the city unique to her own perspective. The photographs below were taken from her San Francisco series:
