Subject 3: Poetry as NarrativePosted: October 14, 2015
I’ve began writing the narrative to go over my video work. Here are some early drafts. The reoccurring theme is the way the film becomes a celebration of my body, something women are often warned against or put off by due to societal pressures. It has been heavily influenced by the writing of Jim Morrison as I’ve been on a Doors kick lately.
So far, reading it aloud adds up to 57 seconds.
This style of narration over experimental film can also be referred to as ‘non-diegesis‘, where the narration over the film may not entirely be an account of the narrative of the film or the characters motivations.
